　We are pleased to inform you that Hitachi Capital Corporation will launch a business to purchase secondhand agricultural machinery, utilizing our abundant farmer-oriented finance experience and channels accumulated over many years.

1. Business Overview

　Putting forth the slogan “Provide services that are tailored to needs of customers and communities”as one of our management policies, we have been working to promote community-based agricultural business. As part of this, we have launched a new business to purchase idle secondhand agricultural machinery from our long-time client farmers (approx. 80,000) and agricultural machinery shops, and then resell the machinery abroad through our affiliated companies.

　We will start in the Kyushu district in November, with the appraisal of secondhand agricultural machinery and resale abroad conducted by Ibero-Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kasuya-Gun, Fukuoka Japan; President: Mr. Atsushi Shibayama).

2. Future business deployment

(1) Targeted agricultural machinery

　We will start by purchasing machinery expected to be in demand abroad, such as tractors and combine harvesters regardless of presence or absence of the failure, and then gradually expand the target machinery zone.

(2) Business area

　We will begin the business in the Kyushu district, and then extend the business throughout all of Japan.

3. Addressing sales of secondhand machinery through Internet auctions

　After establishing our agricultural machinery purchasing business (scheduled for early 2009), we plan to build up an auction site targeting our affiliated sales shops, guided by specialists in this field. This will be the first trial in the industry, utilizing our business experience with agricultural machinery, and we will work to establish the secondhand agricultural machinery market.
