Re: Dainan Citizen Center Construction Project in Oita City

　Regarding the “Dainan Citizen Center Construction Project in Oita City” (tentative name; hereinafter called the “Project”) managed by Oita city in Oita prefecture, we concluded a business contract with Oita city on March 3 this year. We are pleased to announce that, on June 5, Hitachi Capital Corporation conducted a “prayer for safety” ceremony regarding the citizen center, and will soon start construction.

1. Project outline

   　This project involves the construction of a replacement for the aging Dainan branch office, in order to improve the availability of services, including child support and healthcare, and to develop activities and facilities for intercommunication for local residents in order to help rebuild the local community.

   　This project adopts a lease method. We will design and construct the facilities, then operate and maintain them throughout the lease period, after which we will transfer the facilities to Oita city without further charge.

   　The lease period is 10 years, from March 2011 to February 2021 (planned).

2. Proposal

   Our proposal for this project is as follows:

   ・　Site area: Approx. 8500 ㎡
   ・　Building area: Approx. 2300 ㎡
   ・　Structure and scale: Two-story reinforced concrete building
   ・　Total lease cost: 1,065 million yen
3. Others

   　We focus on grasping customer needs by strengthening community-based business and developing the market, while providing the value-added financial services that we are known for. This project is also our idea for a building lease through cooperation between local Oita companies in good standing and the Hitachi group, and is expected to gain attention in the future as a construction method for public facilities utilizing private expertise.
